I am a 40 year old father of 4 kids aged 12, 10, 5 and 4. 3 boys and a girl (being the 10 year old).
Cancer is something that my family are currently living through with my father in law battling a rare strain of melanoma. He has been undergoing treatment at Peter Mac for 2 years. Prior to this his daughter went through her own battle with bowel cancer, which she is currently in remission for.
On my side of the family I have had my grandfather battle prostate cancer. I have a close friend who lost his father this year to cancer, another friend battling with tumours on his spine and I have recently come in contact with a lady that is battling to beat breast cancer, which is now in her spine and is terminal. She has 7 year old triplets that are watching her fight this horrible disease.
It is for everyone of these people that I want to raise awareness, raise money and find a cure to beat this horrible disease. This is a disease that does not discriminate in who it decides to attack and sadly take a lot of lives. None of us are immune, but with your help and our desire to ride and raise more money, we may just be able to work together to fund the research to find the cure in our lifetime.
What an amazing thing to see achieved and pass on to our children and future generations.
If you would like to donate to my rides, please use the links below. If you see that any of my rides have reached $2500 in donations, it would be appreciated if you could move onto the next one that has not yet reached that total to enable me to ride in as many of these 6 rides as possible.
